「目を通しておく」
Me wo tooshite oku
訳：資料等を一通り読んでおくこと。会議に使う資料や客先の情報など、文字で書かれているものに対して使う。
It means to read papers briefly. It uses
for papers of meeting, customer information which is written in letters.
使用例：上司よりの声掛けの場合「これ、目を通しておいてね。」
Ex: Sometime boss says like that, “Kore me
wo tooshite oitene”
部下から報告する場合「この資料目を通しておきました。」
Sometime staff member says to their boss, “Kono
shiryou me wo tooshite okimashita.”
※時間をかけず、内容を把握しておく時に使われる。しっかり時間をかけていると注意されるのでスピーディーさが求められる。外国人にとってはハードルが高い指示。
If your boss says this, you don’t have much
time to read, but you need to catch the contents. Your boss doesn’t wait long. You
should finish quickly. For the member whose first language is not Japanese, this
order is hard to do.
